The compact submachine gun is intended for close combat and is applied as a self-defence weapon.
Kedr fires 9x18 mm PM cartridges. Submachine gun is recoil-operated. The trigger assembly enables the submachine gun to conduct single-shot and automatic fire. The rounds are fed from a double-column box-type magazine with a capacity of 20 or 30 rounds.
The submachine gun is fitted with a buttstock and combined optical sight attachment. It can fire both with its buttstock either folded or extended.
