The Yak-130 training (combat-training) aircraft is intended for flight and combat training of flight personnel on the 4th and 5th generation fighters as well as for performing combat missions against ground and air targets in favorable and adverse weather conditions. Thus Yak-130 Combat trainer jet is capable to perform both training and real combat tasks as a light combat aircraft.

The aircraft provides practice of all the tasks of the pilot training course, including combat use, it has high power-to-weight ratio and maneuverability, it possesses high safety of flight, ensures capability of autonomous basing and operation from paved and unpaved runways.
