Original design solutions, tried and tested in heavy-duty two-unit transporters, and vast experience of their operation have been incorporated in DT-3P, DT-5P, DT-7P light-duty two-unit transporters with a load capacity of 2 to 8 tons intended for use in the various sectors of the economy and equipping Russia’s EMERCOM (Ministry of Emergencies) units.
Basically, their design does not differ from the heavy-duty two-unit transporters. The light-duty two-unit transporters are fitted with Cummins turbocharged diesel engines and Allison hydromechanical automatic transmissions. The use of a metal track with a metal-rubber mounting (MRM) in light-duty transporters has made it possible to significantly increase the maximum speed and operate them on public roads. At the same time they remain amphibious and are capable of crossing any obstacles in a similar manner.
The DTP-3PSA fire-rescue system has been developed around the DT-3P two-unit transporter chassis to equip Russia’s EMERCOM units. The second unit of the transporter accommodates two modules: a fixed module with a self-contained electric power unit and various replaceable (firefighting, rescue, medical) modules. The latter are replaced using a hydraulic lift.
A lineup of light-duty two-unit transporters with a capacity of 5 and 7 tons, equipped with a crane manipulator enabling mechanized cargo handling without the involvement of other lifting equipment, has been developed. They have found use in the oil and gas industry for cargo transportation in off-road terrain and also as a platform for mounting process equipment.
