Cooperation with Argentina

Diplomatic relations between both countries stretch back to October 22, 1885.

The first official visit of Raul Alfonsin, President of Argentina, to Russia took place in October, 1986.

In April 2010, Dmitry Medvedev paid first State visit to Argentina.

Nowadays there is an Intergovernmental Russian-Argentine Commission on Trade-Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation.

The foundation of military-technical cooperation was laid in 2004 during a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Nestor Kirchner in Moscow, who signed the agreement on military-technical cooperation (ratified later in 2006).

There is a representative office of the State Corporation Rostec in Argentina, which ensures the interests of Rosoboronexport.
