The MAKS International Aviation and Space Salon occupies one of the leading positions among the world’s largest aviation forums due its superb organization and representativeness.

MAKS has been held biennially since 1993. Rosoboronexport has attended all of the air shows.

The air show held at the airfield of the Gromov Flight Research Institute is organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation sponsored by JSC Aviasalon.

The main objectives of MAKS air shows are to demonstrate Russia’s high technologies and readiness of Russia’s domestic market to develop joint ventures with foreign partners, develop industrial cooperation, find new business partners, demonstrate prototypes of aircraft, combat systems and test units, which cannot be displayed abroad due to a number of reasons and to hold scientific conferences and symposiums.

MAKS 2015 covers the following topics: armaments, repairs, maintenance and fitting of aircraft, civilian and military aviation, civilian and military helicopters, propulsion engineering, unmanned aerial vehicles, airships and air balloons, simulators, materials and technologies, space industry, air defense equipment and communications systems.

The peculiarity of the MAKS air shows is their colorful and busy fight program.
