The International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS) is one of the leading world air shows due to the high level of organization and representation.
MAKS air shows have been held since 1993 on a biennial basis. Rosoboronexport has taken part in all previous shows. Besides, the company is a sponsor of MAKS.
The venue is the airfield of the Gromov Flight Research Institute. The organizers of the MAKS are the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and Rostec State Corporation. JSC Aviasalon is the operating company.
The main objectives of the MAKS aviation salons are: demonstration of Russia’s high technologies and the openness of the Russian domestic market for joint projects with foreign partners; development of industrial cooperation; search for new business partners; demonstration of prototypes of aircraft, combat systems and experimental units that cannot be presented outside Russia due to various reasons; organization of conferences and round tables.
Thematic scope of the MAKS salon includes: armaments, repairs, maintenance and equipment of aircraft, civil and military aviation, commercial and combat helicopters, engine building, unmanned aerial vehicles, air ships and balloons, trainers and simulators, materials and technologies, space industry, air defence equipment, information and communication systems.
A distinctive feature of MAKS shows is a vivid and extensive flight program.
