Once again, Rosoboronexport JSC (part of the Rostec State Corporation) is proud to sponsor the 12th Spasskaya Tower 2019 International Military Music Festival, which will be held in Moscow’s Red Square from August 23 to September 1, 2019.
“Since its inception, the Spasskaya Tower Festival has been a cultural highlight, the hallmark of the Moscow summer. The key message of this spectacular show of the world’s best military bands is ‘Music is the language of peace not war’. The technical mastery of the participants and the classical musical language give this message special power,” said Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov.
Every year tens of thousands of visitors and guests of Spasskaya Tower can enjoy a spectacular show, which successfully combines the marching grace of honorary guard units of the heads of state, the elegance of the best cavalry groups, the stunning sound of military and folk ensembles from many countries of the world, and performances by world-famous pop stars. All this blends seamlessly with skillfully staged theatrical elements, light installations and breathtaking fireworks.
“Rosoboronexport’s slogan is “STRONG SUPPORT" and the festival is focused on strengthening ties between Russia and its partners on the world stage. Spasskaya Tower is a vivid example of how art unites nations and aspirations of people from all over the world to create and make bold experiments in the kingdom of music and dance, the greatest gifts of mankind” said Alexander Mikheev, Director General of Rosoboronexport.
The Festival’s geographic footprint traditionally encompasses all the corners of the world. The organizers have already presented many participants. This year, Moscow will welcome the Central Band of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, the Band of the Azerbaijan Higher Military School named after Heydar Aliyev, Turkish Armed Forces Armoni Band, the Military Band of the People’s Army of the DPRK, the musical group "Han Nuri" from the Republic of Korea, Fanfara Alpina Tridentina from Italy, marching bands Strømsgodset Musikkorps and Tveit Union Musikkorps from Norway, Exemplary Band of the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Egyptian Military Symphonic Band, Exemplary Band of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, as well as the Celtic Massed Pipes and Drums and the International Celtic Dance Team.
“Many of Rosoboronexport’s partners, who visited this magnificent show, take home the best impressions about Russia and the Russians. No one remains indifferent, and every year, with each new Spasskaya Tower, feelings and emotions experienced by the audience here bring the planet more peace and tranquility, that art calls for," added Alexander Mikheev.
Spasskaya Tower, the world's largest parade of military bands, has been held at the walls of the Moscow Kremlin since 2007 in accordance with the instruction of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
A contest of children's brass bands entitled ‘Spasskaya Tower to Children’ is held during the festival. There is a specially built ground for guests where children's ensembles and honor guards from different cities and countries perform, where concerts, interactive shows, creative studios and cognitive entertainments are organized.
A large-scale charity program, which envisages free-of-charge distribution of several thousand tickets among socially vulnerable groups, as well as in children's institutions and schools in Moscow, Moscow region and other regions of Russia, is an essential part of the Spasskaya Tower Festival.
