Rosoboronexport will launch the Spanish PAZ satellite

On August 27 at the MAKS 2015 International Aerospace Show, Rosoboronexport, part to the Rostec State Corporation, has signed a contract with HISDESAT Servicios Estratégicos SA, a Spanish satellite service company, to launch the PAZ spacecraft in 2015.

The PAZ satellite, developed and manufactured by Airbus Defense & Space in Spain, is intended for a wide range of applications in cartography, environmental monitoring, urban planning, and topographical survey to evaluate the condition of water, land and forest resources.

Following the commissioning of the satellite, HISDESAT Servicios Estratégicos SA, which is its sole owner and operator, plans to sell licenses for the monitoring data to consumers around the world in accordance with international norms and rules.

The launch vehicle to be used will be Dnepr and the technical work associated with the launch preparations will be perfomed by International space company Kosmotras.

We are among the world’s leaders in launching military, civilian and dual-purpose spacecraft in the interests of foreign countries and pursue a consistent policy to strengthen Russia's position in this segment of the world space services market,” said Ivan Goncharenko, Rosoboronexport’s first deputy general director heading the Company’s delegation at the exhibition.
