Yak-130
Training (combat-training) aircraft

Mission

The Yak-130 training (combat-training) aircraft is intended for flight and operational training of flying personnel as well as for performing combat missions.

The aircraft is used to develop and improve pilot skills needed to fly, navigate and employ current and advanced combat aircraft. The Yak-130 can be effective as a light attack aircraft in engaging air and ground (surface) targets.

Equipment

The Yak-130 carries a modern set of flight-control-navigation, communications, cockpit instrumentation and other equipment, including a quad-redundant fly-by-wire flight control system incorporating an active flight safety capability and a reprogramming capability that makes it possible to modify the stability and controllability characteristics of the aircraft. Combined with flight performance, this equipment gives the Yak-130 high training effectiveness.

Armament

The Yak-130 is equipped with air-to-air missiles, guided air bombs, unguided rockets and bombs, external fuel tanks, gun and EW pods. Maximum combat load carried on its 9 hardpoints is 3,000 kg.

Main benefits

  • maximum adequacy to modern combat aircraft as to subsonic flight characteristics and cockpit instrumentation;
  • capability for training pilots to fly various types of combat aircraft, including multirole 5th generation fighters;
  • suitability for use in all types of flight training at various training stages;
  • capability for operational training in real-world and simulation modes;
  • training and combat mission capability;
  • high flight safety;
  • capability for autonomous stationing and operation, including in unpaved airfields;
  • mature operation system for the aircraft in the Russian and other air forces.
