ROSOBORONEXPORT JSC (part of Rostec State Corporation) is organizing a joint Russian exhibit at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2025, which will be held fr om May 20 to 24 at Langkawi, Malaysia. The Company will participate in the Langkawi Island event for the first time since 2019.

The country's armed forces continue to operate previously supplied Russian military products, including airplanes, helicopters, Ground Forces equipment, and air defence systems. The Su-30MKM fighters are the backbone of the Royal Air Force and are undergoing maintenance at Aerospace Technology System Corporation, a Russian-Malaysian joint venture in the country. At LIMA 2025, ROSOBORONEXPORT is showcasing weapons and military equipment for all law enforcement agencies of the country. Most of them have been rigorously tested under real combat conditions and have been modified based on this experience.
The main theme of the exhibition is the aircraft component. In this segment the Company is presenting the latest Russian fifth-generation fighter, the Su-57E, which will be of interest to both representatives of both the Royal Malaysian Air Force and other Southeast Asian countries. Its main advantage over its few competitors is its successful experience of participating in combat operations in a real armed conflict with the use of advanced air attack weapons, air defence and EW assets by the enemy.
Visitors to the exhibition and ROSOBORONEXPORT’s potential partners can also see the Su-35S and Su-30SM fighter jets during the performances by the Russian Knights aerobatic team. The flight program and Russian pilots’ aerobatics are invariably the highlights of any air show.
ROSOBORONEXPORT is showcasing the IL-76MD-90A(E) aircraft capable of transporting 60 tons of cargo over a distance of 4,000 km. It can be used to airlift personnel and military equipment, airdrop troops and cargo, and can also be quickly converted into a fire-fighting version and a "military hospital" version.
In addition, the Company is demonstrating Russia’s Ka-52E and Mi-28NME attack helicopters, as well as the Mi-171Sh military transport helicopter on Langkawi Island. These vehicles have proved their high flight performance during operation and today are most in-demand in Southeast Asia.
In the air defence domain, the Company is presenting advanced Russian anti-aircraft missile systems designed to cover the country's administrative and industrial areas, troops and infrastructure facilities. ROSOBORONEXPORT will offer visitors the Antey-4000 long-range SAM system, the S-350E Vityaz and the Viking medium-range SAM systems developed and manufactured by Almaz-Antey Air and Space Defence Corporation.
ROSOBORONEXPORT is exhibiting the Pantsir-S1M and Pantsir-SMD-E short-range and very-short-range AD systems, as well as Verba MANPADS as point defence assets capable to counter any air threats, including UAVs, cruise missiles and multiple rocket launcher (MRL) rockets. During Russia's Victory Day celebrations on May 9, 2025, they demonstrated to the whole world that they are capable to ensure the security of citizens and critical facilities in the face of massive UAV attacks.
In addition, the Company is showcasing a line of EW assets designed to counter UAVs and precision guided munitions.
The Kub-E loitering munition and Orlan-10E and Scat-350M reconnaissance UAVs can provide an effective solution to military and special police operations.
Another key segment of LIMA 2025 will be devoted to the naval component, wh ere ROSOBORONEXPORT is demonstrating the Project 22160 patrol ship and the Project 12701 Alexandrit-E mine countermeasure ship. Their construction can be localized at shipyards of Malaysia and other states in the region, both in the interests of the national Navy, Coast Guard and Marine Police, and for export to third countries.
The Russian defence industry’s capabilities to manufacture marine robotic systems will be demonstrated on the example of the Klavesin-1RE unmanned autonomous underwater vehicle.
Russian products presented in Malaysia can be supplied by ROSOBORONEXPORT as end items or manufactured in partner countries as part of joint technology projects.
During LIMA 2025 the ROSOBORONEXPORT delegation will discuss cooperation opportunities and prospects for further cooperation with representatives of the Ministries of Defence and other security agencies, as well as public and private enterprises of Malaysia and the countries of the region.
