BT-3F Armoured Personnel Carrier

The BT-3F amphibious armored personnel carrier has been developed on the base of the BMP-3F infantry combat vehicle to provide transportation of the marines, units of coast guard and land forces, as well as to ensure fire support for the dismounted infantry in all kinds of warfare.

The BT-3F armoured personnel carrier is a fully amphibious vehicle. It can be fitted with a rooftop-mounted remotely operated weapon station (ROWS) with a 12.7mm heavy machine gun (HMG). The ROWS also carries a TV/thermal imaging sight and a laser range finder.

The vehicle is fitted with a nuclear, biological and chemical protection subsystem.

Description

The BT-3F transports up to 14 fully equipped servicemen. The vehicle’s crew totals three (driver, commander, second-in-command).

The vehicle’s remotely-operated weapon station (ROWS) is armed with a 6P49 KORD 12.7mm heavy machine gun (HMG). The KORD HMG is designed to engage low-flying aerial targets, light armoured and unarmored vehicles and weapon systems and unsheltered manpower. The weapon a maximum range of fire of 2,000 m.

The station’s sensor suite integrates both day vision and infrared sensors, as well as a laser range finder.
