122mm TORNADO-G MLRS

Modern 122mm TORNADO-G MLRS (index 9K51M) is equipped to improved system Automated Laying and Fire Control System (ALFCS), also preparing and launching apparatus .
ALFCS provides  automatic topographic survey, orientation on the terrain and mapping onto electronic map, automated calculation of firing data  and targeting of a launch tubes package without leaving the cabin, and also automated data input into enhanced power rockets detonator.

The TORNADO-G MLRS main type of fire is indirect fire mode from covered positions without topographic survey. There is no need for the crew to leave the vehicle or use any sighting systems which saves precious time and shorter time to stowed position allows to withdraw from the firing site much faster. But the crew can also leave the vehicle and use sighting systems and remote control. Preparing and launching apparatus provides for preparation of all types of rockets for start-up and launch, both from Launch Vehicle cabin, and by means of the portable console at distance 50 … 60 m, as well as remote data input of a launch definition (time of action) for 9M539 and 9M541 rockets.
