The 9A55-E launch vehicle (LV) of the Sarma Multiple Launch Rocket System is designed to engage offensive means, armor, mechanized infantry and infantry units in concentration areas, on the move and in the battle order, artillery battalions in concentration areas, on the move and in the battle order, artillery battalions in concentration areas, helicopter units on helipads, air defense and ballistic missile defense units at positions, airborne assault and amphibious assault units in areas of their operations and other targets.
The primary firing method is from the covered fire position in absence of visible orientation points, without LV cabin leaving by the crew. Firing from the LV can be from a shelter using the remote console.
The LV can be operated on all types of roads acceptable for the base chassis.
