BK-16 is designed to provide support to Special Forces in littoral areas.
The boat can be easily transformed into a command and control boat, a fire support boat, an anti-sabotage boat, a police boat, a boat for SAR operations, an ambulance boat or a fireboat. 
Suspension boat seats with armored seatbacks are available for troops.
The boat can be equipped in various combinations with 12,7 mm and 7,62 mm machine guns, remotely controlled combat machinegun and grenade launcher modules.
