The International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF) is traditionally organized by the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation and TÜYAP Fairs and Exhibitions Organization Inc., a large exhibition operator. It is held under the aegis and with support of the Ministry of National Defence of Turkey.

Rosoboronexport has taken part in all previous exhibitions since 1995. In 2021 Rosoboronexport acts also as the organizer of Russia’s joint display at IDEF.

The exhibition is in the top ten largest world defence shows, and is one of the most valuable venues for the demonstration of armaments in Europe.

The thematic scope of the exhibition includes: military equipment for land forces, air force and navy, protection technologies, space technologies, onboard systems, helicopters, vessels, electronic equipment, security systems, transportation and logistics equipment and systems.   

IDEF includes demonstrations of present-day defence technologies and sophisticated weapons and military equipment from various sectors of defence industry, which are offered for export on the world arms market. Dozens of contracts are concluded in the margins of the exhibition.
