17.05.2017 Press release

Rosoboronexport, a member of Rostec, is going to set up a joint Russian display booth at the 6th International Defense Technology Exhibition SITDEF-2017 to take place at the Army HQ, Lima, Peru, on May 18-21.

Deputy Director of the Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation Anatoly Punchuk will lead Russia’s official delegation, while Deputy Director General of Rosoboronexport Sergey Ladygin was named the head of the company’s team at the event.

“Military and technical cooperation of Russia and Peru has a long and vibrant history and today Rosoboronexport consistently takes measures to shape long and mutually beneficial work adjusted to modern trends on the world arms market. We offer to Peru and our other partners in Latin America the widest spectrum of ways for cooperation from supply of Russian defense products to various forms of technological partnerships, including joint development of military equipment. Such flexibility in the way we work with our customers coupled with rather appealing offers as far as cost-effectiveness goes provides Rosoboronexport with a very solid place on the Latin American arms market,” says Sergey Ladygin.

The joint Russian display will be deployed at stands 128 and 124A, Inka pavilion. Rosoboronexport's booth will provide information on 250-plus military products. Many of them were put to action by the Russian Aerospace Force in Syria, where they proved to be reliable, trouble-free and quality weapons suitable for deployment in combat.

In the aviation sector the most promising future faces the Yak-130 combat-trainer, MiG-29M multi-role front-line fighter, and Su-30MK aircraft. Noteworthy is the heighten interest of customers to the Mi-171Sh troop-carrying helicopter, Mi-28NE attack helicopter, and Mi-35M gunship with troop-carrying capability.

Armed forces in Latin America are also expected to pay attention to Army equipment, particularly, the T-90S tank, as well as BTR-80A and BTR-82A APCs. Russian AD systems, namely the Tor M2KM and Buk-M2E SAM systems, Pantsir-S1 AA gun-missile system, and Igla-S man portable AD system, are believed to stand good chances in the region as well. The S-400 Triumph and Antey-2500 long-range SAM systems will doubtless get their share of attention.

With such challenges as terrorism, drag trafficking, organized and cyber crimes on the rise, Rosoboronexport expects the Comprehensive Security System Project to gather crowds of foreign customers. It contains integrated solutions to issues like cyber security, air and coastal zone management, control of state borders, large municipalities, administrative entities and facilities.
