15.05.2017 Press release

JSC Rosoboronexport (part of the Rostec State Corporation) will organize a joint Russian display at the MILEX-2017, 8-th International Exhibition of Armaments and Military Equipment, which will be held in Minsk (Republic of Belarus) on May 20-22, 2017. The special exporter has regularly attended all of the previous exhibitions.

The joint Rostec-Rosoboronexport delegation will be headed by Valery Varlamov, Head of Rosoboronexport’s Security Department. The company’s stand will provide information on 220 pieces of military equipment. The joint display will feature a total of 350 pieces of military equipment produced by 11 Russian defense enterprises.

The greatest popularity is currently enjoyed by the Russian military equipment designed for the Land Force, Air Force, air defense and special purpose troops. According to Rosoboronexport’s specialists, foreign customers seem to be particularly interested in the Mi-28NE attack helicopters, Ka-226T light multipurpose day-and-night helicopters and Ka-52 attack and reconnaissance helicopters. Russian MiG and Su aircraft and the Yak-130 combat trainers can also boast broad export capacities.

Other systems that catch the interest of foreign customers include the Tor-M2KM air defense systems, BTR-82A armored personnel vehicles, Khrizantema-S self-propelled antitank systems, T-90S tanks, Typhoon-K armored vehicles, Smerch multiple launch rocket systems, Kornet-EM antitank missile systems and various types of Kalashnikov rifles.

“In addition to negotiating the supplies of ready-made products, Russia and Belarus have also intensified bilateral scientific-technical and industrial cooperation. Implementation of joint projects, including the ones stipulated by the contracts with the third countries, is one of the most promising areas of military-technical cooperation between the two countries. “In 2016, Rosoboronexport and its Belarusian partners successfully fulfilled a number of joint projects”, - Valery Varlamov said.

Rosoboronexport’s specialists have a broad agenda scheduled for MILEX-2017, which includes meetings with the representatives of the Armed Forces and security services of the Republic of Belarus. The delegation will also meet with a number of top officials from the governmental institutions and enterprises running current and future projects jointly with the special exporter.
