At the International Defense Services Asia Exhibition (DSA-2016), to be held from 18 to 21 April in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) the Russian companies will provide information on more than 300 materiel items.

According to the Russian Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation’s order, Rosoboronexport (part of the Rostec State Corporation) was appointed organizer of the joint Russian exhibition area.

The joint Russian delegation will be headed by FSMTC Deputy Director Mikhail Petukhov while the joint delegation of the Rostec Corporation and Rosoboronexport - by Vladimir Ereschenko, Head of Rosoboronexport’s Regional Department.

The exhibition will involve:

• JSC United Engine Corporation;
• JSC Research and Production Corporation UralVagonZavod;
• JSC Concern Morinformsystem-Agat;
• JSC KBP Instrument Design Bureau named after Academician A.G.Shipunov;
• JSC Scientific-Production Concern Techmash;
• LLC Military Industrial Company (VPK);
• JSC Zelenodolsk Plant named after A.M.Gorky;
• JSC Kronshtadt Technologies;
• JSC Concert Sozvezdie.

The 15th International Defense Services Asia Exhibition DSA 2016 is held under the patronage of the Malaysian Ministry of Defense, Malaysian Armed Forces and Royal Malaysian Police. In terms of its scale and the number of exhibitors, DSA is one of the largest exhibitions of weapons and military equipment for land, air defense, naval and special operations forces in the Asia-Pacific region.

Military-technical cooperation with Malaysia

The first agreement in the sphere of military-technical cooperation between Russia and Malaysia was a contract signed in 1993 for the supply of MiG-29 multi-function fighters, which later underwent in-depth modernization. During the 2000s, Russia and Malaysia secured contracts for the supply of Metis-M1 ATGM systems, small arms, Igla MANPADS and Su-30MKM multi-role fighters. In 2007, the first Malaysian astronaut flew on board the Soyuz spacecraft to the International Space Station as part of the offset program under Rosoboronexport’s Su-30MKM supply contract. In 2011, within the same offset program, a full-flight simulator for the Su-30MKM aircraft was put into operation, while in 2012 a service center for maintenance of these fighters was completed.
