Mission
The MiG-29UB combat-training fighter is designed to provide flight and operational training of flying personnel and conduct combat missions.
The MiG-29UB can be effective in developing and improving pilot skills needed to fly, navigate, execute combat maneuvering and employ MiG-29 type fighters, both on solo and group missions. It can also be used to engage aerial and ground (surface) targets, conduct air support of ground troops and landing forces, battlefield air interdiction and aerial reconnaissance.
Equipment
The MiG-29UB carries flight-control-navigation equipment, a quantum optical locating station, a helmet-mounted targeting system, a head-up display, a radio set and radio command control equipment, electronic warfare equipment and other equipment that working together provides high flight safety, effective solving of navigation and training tasks, as well as the use of aerial weapons.
Armament
The MiG-29UB is equipped with air-to-air missiles, unguided rockets and air bombs, and an internal 30mm gun. Maximum weapon load suspended from 6 hardpoints is 2,500 kg. Together with excellent acceleration, altitude-speed and maneuvering performance of the MiG-29UB, this armament gives the aircraft high combat effectiveness
