At Dubai Air Show 2013 International Aerospace Exhibition, to be held from 17 to 21 November in Dubai, Rosoboronexport (part of the Rostec State Corporation) will present the key export models of Russian aircraft and air defense systems, as well as space system production and launch projects.
The holding company will showcase more than 70 models of weapons and military equipment. Foreign delegations are expected to pay particular attention to the Sukhoi Su-35 multirole fighter, the latest MiG-29 fighter versions, Yakovlev Yak-130 combat trainer, Beriev Be-200 amphibious aircraft, Kamov Ka-52 and Mil Mi-28NE attack helicopters, Buk- M2E, Tor-M2E and Pantsyr-S1 air defense missile systems, as well as to a variety of aerial weapons.
“The exhibition in Dubai is one of the most prestigious international venues in the aerospace sector. This year, Russia will send the biggest ever delegation since its first participation in the exhibition in 1993, which is in line with the current trend towards more intense military-technical cooperation with the countries in the region in different areas,” - said Advisor to Rosoboronexport General Director Mikhail Zavaliy who heads the company’s delegation at the exhibition.
Within the framework of the exhibition, the holding’s representatives and foreign partners will discuss services in the field of the development of various space systems, including the issues of establishing satellite communications and land monitoring systems as well as rendering launch services for customers.
“Russia has a lot of traditional partners in the Arab world, so even the difficult political situation in the region does not negate the accumulated vast experience of mutually beneficial cooperation, - noted Mikhail Zavaliy. - Russian equipment is well known and highly appreciated here for its efficiency and reliability. We’ve heard pessimistic scenarios regarding the prospects for the development of relationships with the Middle East countries from the enemies of Arab-Russian cooperation more than once. However, in practice, we maintain these relationships at the appropriate level and seek to expand them.”
In 2012, aviation equipment and air defense systems accounted for over 58% of Rosoboronexport’s total portfolio of orders. It is expected that helicopters and air defense systems will be the fastest growing segments in 2013 and their export deliveries will increase by 20% and 30%, respectively.
