22.11.2016 Press release

Rosoboronexport, Rostec’s member, will set up a promo booth at IDEAS-2016 to take place in Karachi, Pakistan, on 22-25 November. Russia’s Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation will head the delegation at the event.

“We are bringing to IDEAS-2016 a wide spectrum of HW and SW solutions, as well as law enforcement systems. We aim at broadening antiterrorist cooperation with Pakistan and other countries in the region. Rosoboronexport will provide materials proving beyond any doubt the outstanding performance and effectiveness of Russian products deployed against this global threat,” says head of Rosoboronexport’s Analysis and Long-Term Planning Department Boris Simakin leading the company’s delegation at IDEAS-2016.

At the behest of the Russian Government the special arms exporter will set up a booth displaying over 250 defense products. Present at the exhibition will also be representatives of Rostec, Russia’s state corporation, and Russian Helicopters.

Rosoboronexport is bringing to IDEAS-2016 combat proven equipment favoured by Russian special units and law enforcement officers, specialized in antiterrorist operations, namely the BTR-80A APC and its most advanced derivative – the BTR-82A, as well as the BMP-3M IFV. Besides, IDEAS-2016 will see Russian small arms – the AK-101, AK-102, AK-103, and AK-104 advanced Kalashnikov assault rifles, as well as the Kedr sub-machine gun. The booth will also have on display the SKATT-USB SA simulator fit for improvement of skills with various weapons of the class.

Rosoboronexport’s specialists are going to present a scalable security project ‘Antiterrorism and Law Enforcement’ designed to detect sources of terrorist threats and illegal activities, conduct antiterrorist operations, enforce law, provide security of key installations and protection of littoral areas. The presentation is to take place at 10.00 on 24 November.
The company’s business agenda already shows several meetings with high officials of participating states. “Concerted efforts, for example, in deploying situational antiterrorist centers and comprehensive approach to equipping law enforcers in the region are instrumental in combating modern threats,” stresses Mr. Simakin.
