The International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF) has been traditionally organized by the Turkish Armed Forces Fund and TÜYAP Fairs and Exhibitions Organization Inc., the largest exhibition operator, under the auspices of the Turkish Ministry of National Defense and Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TAFF).

IDEF is one of the most important arms exhibitions in Europe and ranks among ten world’s largest defense industry exhibitions. The exhibition promotes a wide range of sophisticated defense technologies and equipment as well as cutting-edge military equipment to be exported to the global arms market.

In 2017, Istanbul will host the fifth edition of the exhibition (previous venue - Ankara). Rosoboronexport has attended the exhibition since 1995.

The exhibition covers the following topics: land, air and sea military equipment, protection technologies, space technologies, onboard systems, helicopters, vessels, electronic equipment, security systems, transportation and logistics equipment and systems.

IDEF presents a wide range of sophisticated defense technologies and equipment and state-of-the-art military equipment offered to the international arms customers. The exhibition also serves as a platform for the conclusion of dozens of contracts.
