Rosoboronexport to snow 200+ defence items in Istanbul

Rosoboronexport, a subsidiary of Rostec Corporation, will present over 200 advanced items of Russian defence equipment designed for Air Force, Navy and Army purposes at the 11th International Defence Industry Fair - IDEF 2013 to be held from 7th to 10th May 2013 in Istanbul, Turkey.

The Rosoboronexport stand will promote Russian rotary-wing systems such as the Ka-52A reconnaissance-and-attack helicopter, Mi-171Sh multi-purpose military transport helicopter, Mi-28NE attack helicopter, Mi-35M combat transport helicopter, Ansat and Ka-226 light utility helicopters as well as other aircraft that are in great demand on the world market. Russia's exposition will also advertise the Ka-32A11BC fire-fighting helicopter which is considered for procurement by the Turkish Ministry of Environment and Forestry.

Within the framework of the T-LORAMIS Russian-Turkish cooperative programme for the development of air defence systems, Rosoboronexport offers its partners a unique air defence missile system - Antey-2500, capable of solving the problem of missile defense. If a contract is concluded for the procurement of the Antey-2500 air defence missile system, an advanced and highly effective Russian-Turkish air/missile defence system will be developed in Turkey.

Besides air systems Rosoboronexport will also display at IDEF 2013 military ships, including Project 12061E Murena-E air cushion landing craft which can become a spectacular component of landing craft-docks in Turkish shipyards. The craft can embark combat materiel and personnel from, and disembark on both equipped and unequipped shore.

In Istanbul the Russian side will also present the Terminator, the latest design of a new fire support combat vehicle, already demonstrated abroad, that aroused great interest among military experts worldwide.

“Turkey was the first NATO country with which Russia established close ties in the field of military technical cooperation, - pointed out Anatoly Aksenov, advisor to the director general and head of the Rosoboronexport's delegation. - Given the capacity and prospects of the Turkish arms market, we consider military technical cooperation with that country as one of the most important lines of our activities”.

According to the Turkish high military commanders Russian-made military equipment showed itself to a good advantage in operations against illegal armed separatist factions and terrorist groups.

The 11th International Defence Industry Fair exhibition IDEF 2013 is held under the auspices of the Ministry of National Defence of Turkey and Turkish Armed Forces Foundation in the Istanbul TÜYAP Fair, Convention and Congress Center. It will host more than 300 corporate exhibitors from 140 states.
